WISDOM OF RESPONDING TO QUESTIONS

  Bishop Zachary Kakobe

Today, we are studying the Bible from MATTHEW 21: 23-46. Although our subject is “WISDOM TO ANSWER QUESTIONS”, there is still much to learn in these verses. In these verses, we find four different things to learn: -

(1) WISDOM TO ANSWER QUESTIONS (vv. 23-27);

(2) BAPTISM COMES FROM HEAVEN (vv. 25-27);

(3) GRACE ACCOMPANIED BY REPENTANCE (vv. 28-32);

(4) THE EXAMPLE OF A HOME PERSON (vv. 35-46).

(1) WISDOM TO ANSWER QUESTIONS (vv. 23-27)

Jesus Christ was so wise in answering the questions he was asked that people did not dare to ask him questions (MATTHEW 22:46). We do not have to answer every question we are asked, in the same system. Some questions do not require our answers at all (JOHN 19: 8-9; MATTHEW 27: 12-14), and the answers to other questions are to ask those who asked us (MATTHEW 21: 23-27). Before we know what to do when faced with a question, it is important to first understand the NIA of the question we were asked, as well as the nature of the question. The questions we are asked are in the following six ways: -

a. TRAP QUESTIONS (MATTHEW 22: 15-17) - It is important to be careful in answering questions like this, so that our answers do not cause us to fall into the trap set by the questioner.

b. QUESTIONS INTENT TO TRY US (MATTHEW 19: 3; LUKE 10:25) - These questions are intended to test our understanding, to test how we will respond, so that the questioner may have the opportunity to blame us, accuse us or send bad information somewhere. Caution is needed in answering these questions.

c. QUESTIONS INTENTIONALLY HARMFUL (MATTHEW 2: 3-8) - By giving a complete answer to questions like these, we can give the person who asked us the opportunity to do the harm he or she intended in his or her heart. A thief may ask, Does this person return in the evening from work every day? When I come in the morning is it hard to find him? There is no one left in his house? Caution is needed in answering such questions. Evil questions, too, should not be answered.

d. QUESTIONS INTENTIONAL (LUKE 10:29) - some people, not that they ask for education, no, not at all. They pretend to be more educated than we are and so they ask questions to find fault with us, and then they show us their knowledge. We have to be careful. Let us not answer questions with the intention of seeking the “Who knows more” contest, let us seek more answers to make the person stop being evil. To answer the question of the meaning of the locks, seals and trumpets of the Revelation of John from a person who is not saved or who does not live according to the principles of holiness, is a waste of our free time (2 TIMOTHY 2:14, 16-18).

e. FOOLISH AND IGNORANT QUESTIONS, UNKNOWN As we witness to people about salvation, we should avoid their questions related to internal teachings - the Trinity, the Sonship of God, the Atonement of Marriage, the Attire of a Saved Person, Baptism, etc. Let's just tell them how to overcome sin and avoid other questions. They will know it AFTER being saved. A person does not start seventh grade, he starts first grade. Nonsense questions like "Where did God come from", etc., we must reject. Before a person knows where God came from, let him know where he came from!

f. STUDY QUESTIONS (MATTHEW 19: 25-29; LUKE 20: 27-37) - These questions are well-intentioned, however, we must first look at a person's spiritual level. When a five-year-old child asks "Where do children come from?", You can't answer that they come from a sexual act! To do so would be to alienate him from pure values. Likewise, spiritual babes, we answer questions that only build them up in their infancy. Give it to them milk, and let us not give them bones (HEBREWS 5: 12-14; 1 PETER 2: 2).

HOW TO GET WISDOM TO ANSWER QUESTIONS - God's wisdom is needed in answering questions. With this wisdom in mind, we can better understand the purpose of the question and know how to respond to it immediately. This wisdom is obtained by praying to God in faith that He will give it to us, that we may serve Him well (JAMES 1: 5-7).

(2) BAPTISM COMES FROM HEAVEN (vv. 25-27)

In these verses, we clearly learn that John's baptism came from heaven, not from men. That is why the chief priests and the elders of the people were afraid to answer him, because they did not believe John, even though all the people considered him to be a prophet. If John's Baptism came from heaven, it is clear that the baptism of Jesus, who was greater than John (JOHN 1: 28-30), CAME FROM HEAVEN AND NOT TO HUMAN BEINGS (JOHN 3: 26-27). Since this water baptism we are commanded to be baptized by the one who gave us that command is Jesus Himself (MATTHEW 28:19; MARK 16: 15-16), and not man, we should not agree with human teachings on Baptism. Jesus never commanded that infants be baptized. He was not baptized as a child, but blessed, and in his ministry he blessed the children, and did not baptize them (LUKE 2: 27-35; MARK 10: 13-16), Jesus was baptized as an adult (LUKE 3: 21-23). How is this baptism from heaven done? The word "baptize", in the original Greek language, is called "BAPTISM", which comes from the Greek word "BAPTO" meaning "Dip" or "soak", such as dipping a lump of porridge in a sauce or dipping clothes in water or blood. , or dip your finger in water (LUKE 16:24; REVELATION 19:13; JOHN 13:26). Thus, baptism from heaven is done by immersing the person in the WATER that covers the person (JOHN 3:23) and not by sprinkling water on the face. Likewise, the baptism from heaven takes place AFTER (not before) a person hears the preaching of the Gospel and believes in it, and repents of his sins by means of forsaking them, and decides to be saved (ROMANS 10: 13-14; ACTS 8:12, 36-39). Only in abundant water can one come down from the water and climb into the water (MATTHEW 3:16; JOHN 4: 1-2; LUKE 2: 27-35; MARK 10: 13-16).

(3) GRACE ACCOMPANIED BY REPENTANCE (vv. 28-32)

God is pleased with people who are willing to repent or confess and STOP what they were doing, and start doing what they did not want to do. Such people receive mercy or grace to enable them to overcome sin, and to gain the right to enter heaven (PROVERBS 28:13). There are some people who are unwilling to repent, who are proud, and who think that they are righteous, because they do not drink alcohol, do not smoke, do not commit adultery, do not steal, and do all religious acts. These will go to the river, overwhelmed by tax collectors and prostitutes who are ready to repent and give up. Any form of self-condemnation is an abomination to God, for by nature everyone is a sinner, and repentance is necessary in order to avoid judgment (JEREMIAH 2:35; 1 JOHN 1: 8-10; ROMANS 3:12, 22-23). No matter how sinful a person is as a prostitute, repenting in the sense of giving up, he is forgiven and saved (ISAIAH 1:18; 55: 6-7). Likewise, it is important to be ready to repent even after being saved. After we are saved and even after being sanctified, we will still be subject to the SINS OF IMMORALITY THAT WE MUST COMMIT (JAMES 4:17). We must always be ready to repent like David (1 CHRONICLES 21: 1, 7-8; 1 JOHN 2: 1-2)

(4) THE ILLUSTRATION OF THE HOUSEHOLDER (vv. 33-46)

The landowner planted a vineyard and put a fence around it. The vineyards were surrounded by enclosures or stone walls (PROVERBS 24: 30-31). He dug a pressure hole in it. The pressure hole, is a juice extractor from grapes. The grapes are placed on one side of the plant, the pods fall into the ditch and the juice passes to the other side. He hired tenants and set out. Farmers were given these lands for rent for a year or a lifetime and were also given by inheritance. The person who owns the house here, is God Himself (1 CORINTHIANS 3: 9; HEBREWS 3: 2,6). This vineyard, is a desert church that was inherited only by the Jews and had a wall, no non-Jew was allowed to enter that church. God sent His servants, the PROPHETS, to ask for fruit from the Jews. The Jews arrested them, stoned them to death (MATTHEW 23: 34-37). Finally, God decided to send his Son, Jesus, to say that they would honor him. And they tortured him outside the gate and killed him. As a result, the Church will now be inherited or will be given to the Gentiles and a wall that will not allow them to enter, will not exist (ACTS 13: 46-49; 15: 13-18). Jesus is the chief cornerstone. Whoever falls on it will be shattered. His grace will cause him to have a broken and contrite heart, and thus be saved (PSALM 34:18; 51:17; 147: 3). But those who reject him; they will fall by the Stone and will be crushed to pieces and destroyed (ISAIAH 8: 9; ACTS 7:38).

milk, and let us not give them bones (HEBREWS 5: 12-14; 1 PETER 2: 2).

MWAKASEGE'S TESTIMONIAL IS SO TOUCHING

Teacher Christopher Mwakasege

Teacher Christopher Mwakasege testified at the ongoing seminar at Fun Stadiums in Mwanza The seminar on how the Holy Spirit can help you to receive what you are asking for began on 19-07-2011 and is expected to end on 23-07-2011.
He said the Holy Spirit tells you that the prayer does not have a DISCUSSION is to enter the prayer until you get what you are asking for because the cost of entering the prayer to get what you need to get is less than the cost of missing what you were told to get in the Prayer.
When the Holy Spirit gives you the burden of praying for something, He gives it to you and when you are lazy, that time passes by, and it becomes a paradox, and the paradox can be inhabited by something that does not exist. “When we went to Israel with Fanuel Zedekiah and then he started to get sick the doctors told me his brain was ninety percent not working. But they wondered why I was always at the hospital and they said why don't you just stay at the hotel and then call to ask about the patient's condition? They did not know why I was going there because the issue of just calling is not a problem I could go back to Arusha and then I would be calling.
The point here is that I was always going to pray for him, I was sitting on the shores of the Sea of Galilee praying for Zedekiah for six hours from there I heard a very strange anointing and then I took a Taxi towards
Hospital. When I arrived at the hospital the doctors and ICU people were unaware of me so I went straight to the dressing room and changed clothes and then I went into the ICU where he was admitted.
When I get there I ask God a lot of questions and I ask Zedekiah, what are you talking about with Jesus all the time you are not coming back? and then I ask Jesus, isn't Jesus aware that Zedekiah is awake
If you take his wife, who will be his wife? Then after those words I put my hand on it.
As I lay my hand on it suddenly all the anointing becomes as if it had been sucked. After that I go back to the hotel and start again
Ask God if you do not hear my prayers, hear the prayers of Tanzanians because at that time I knew many Tanzanians were praying for Zedekiah.
There comes a time when I give up but in my heart I say to myself Mwakasege it is impossible to encourage yourself and then I change the type of application, as I had his clothes and his passport I became
I put them in and then I started praying for Jericho, I was at the hotel at night and I went around her clothes and her passport while I prayed.
Slowly God began to tell me that Zedekiah was not coming back. At that time my family and I had planned to go to England for a Christmas break, and the booking at the Hotel was done, and all the children at home were wondering how we were going to rest when Zedekiah was sick. Chrismass passed with the new year as well and then Zedekiah died.
After that death I did not get tired and I went back to God and asked him why God has decided to take Zedekiah into my hands? God answered me things I can't say here.
Every day I am a stranger in prayer I need the SPIRIT to teach me anew because I do not know what war I am going to fight, God remains God because He does what He wills ”

KNOW WHO IS T.D. JAKES

Thomas Dexter "T. D." Jakes, Sr.

(born June 9, 1957) is the Apostle/Bishop of The Potter's House, a non-denominational American megachurch, with 30,000 members. T. D. Jakes' church services and evangelistic sermons are broadcast on The Potter's Touch, which airs on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Black Entertainment Television, the Daystar Television Network,The Word Network and The Miracle Channel in Canada. Other aspects of Jakes' ministry include an annual revival called "MegaFest" that draws more than 100,000 people, an annual women's conference called "Woman Thou Art Loosed", and gospel music recordings.

Early life
He grew up in Vandalia, West Virginia, attending local Baptist churches. He spent his teenage years caring for his invalid father and working in local industries. Feeling a call to the ministry, he enrolled in West Virginia State University and began preaching part-time in local churches, but he soon dropped out of the university. He took a job at the local Union Carbide and continued preaching part-time. During this time he met his future wife, Serita Jamison. The couple married in 1981. In 1982, Jakes became the pastor of the Greater Emanuel Temple of Faith, a small, Montgomery, West Virginia independent Pentecostal church with about ten members. Over the next few years, the church grew, drawing an integrated congregation that helped increase Jakes' renown as a speaker and pastor. He moved the church twice - from Montgomery to Smithers and then to South Charleston, where the congregation grew from about 100 members to over 300. During this time, he began a radio ministry The Master's Plan that ran from 1982-1985. He also became acquainted with Bishop Sherman Watkins, founder of the Higher Ground Always Abounding Assembly (an association of over 200 Pentecostal churches). Watkins ordained Jakes as a minister of the Higher Ground Assembly and encouraged him to start a church in the Charleston Area. Jakes also used this time to continue his education by studying through correspondence courses from Friends University. Jakes completed a B. A. and M.A. in 1990 and a D. Min. in 1995.

After the 1990 move to Charleston, as his congregation grew, T. D. Jakes began to focus on the spiritual needs of the women in his church who had been abandoned and abused in their lives. He began a Sunday School class for them, "Woman, Thou Art Loosed," in which he encouraged the women to use their past pain as a foundation for new growth. He later started a similar class for men, which he called "Manpower." In 1993, Jakes self-published his first book, drawing on his experiences working with the women of his congregation. Woman, Thou Art Loosed would become Jakes' signature work and a national religious bestseller. He also began a new television ministry, Get Ready, which aired on Black Entertainment Television and the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Also in 1993, Jakes moved his church yet again, to Cross Lanes, West Virginia.

His ministry continued to expand, prompting the founding of the T. D. Jakes Ministries organization to oversee his work beyond the church itself. He continued to write and to publish, spreading his message of spiritual healing to new audiences. In 1994 he held the first of what would become a series of conferences for ministers and their spouses, "When Shepherds Bleed."

In May 1996, Jakes moved his family and his ministry again, as well as fifty other families involved in his work, to Dallas, Texas. There he purchased Eagle's Nest Church, a large Dallas church. Renaming the church The Potter's House, Jakes continued his work. The Potter's House, which 5000 seat auditorium and a 34-acre, campus has grown to a congregation of 14,000.
Career

In 1980, at age 23, Jakes became the pastor of Greater Emanuel Temple of Faith, a storefront church in Smithers, West Virginia with ten members. The congregation grew to encompass 100 members and was notable because it was racially integrated.

In 1990 Jakes moved to South Charleston, West Virginia, and his congregation grew again, to 300 members. In 1993 he moved to Cross Lanes, West Virginia, where the congregation grew to more than 1,100 people, of whom 60 percent were African American and 40 percent were Caucasian.

In 1994 T.D. Jakes Ministries was established as a non-profit organization that produced televised sermons and conferences. From 1995 to 1996, Jakes hosted "Get Ready," a weekly radio and television show with national distribution through syndication.

In 1996 Jakes, his wife, children, and a staff of 50 employees relocated to Dallas, Texas, where Jakes founded the Potter's House, a non-denominational megachurch. Located on a 34-acre hilltop campus, the Potter's House features a 5,000-seat auditorium, as well as offices for employees and staff. Between 1996 and 1998, church membership grew from 7,000 congregants to 14,000.

In 2005 Jakes accompanied President George W. Bush on his visit to the areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina. In his bookDecision Points, President Bush describes Jakes as "a kind of man who puts faith into action."

On January 20, 2009, Jakes led the early morning prayer service for President Barack Obama at St. John's Church in Washington, D.C., according to NBC News.

In the fall of 2009, Jakes planned on launching a secular daily talk show, syndicated through the CBS Television Distributiongroup; however, economic troubles in the industry may put his new program into jeopardy.
Beliefs

Although Jakes was converted and ordained within Oneness Pentecostalism, he revealed in an interview with Mark Driscollin 2012 that he affirms the Trinity, although Jakes did not affirm the eternality of the individual persons of the Trinity which is denied by Oneness churches.

Jakes is a strong advocate of abstinence[citation needed] and has made appearances on the subject ranging from Good Morning America to Dr. Phil.
Awards and accomplishments

Jakes has received numerous honors, including 13 honorary degrees and doctorates. He has also received Grammy and Dove Award nominations for Gospel album "Live at The Potter's House." PBS Religion and Ethics Newsweekly named Jakes among America's "Top 10 Religious Leaders." Time magazine featured Jakes on the cover of its September 17, 2001 issue with the provocative question, "Is This Man the Next Billy Graham?"
Personal life

When he was 24 in 1981, he married Serita Ann Jamison. They have five children: Jermaine, Jamar, Cora, Sarah, and Thomas Jakes, Jr.

On the PBS program African American Lives, Jakes had his DNA analyzed; his Y chromosome showed that he is descended from the Igbo people of Nigeria. According to his family history, it was also suggested that he is descended from them through his grandmother. He is a second cousin once removed of vocalist Will Wheaton and first cousin twice removed of actor James Wheaton.[citation needed]
